Update: A listing of Monarch Watch tags were retrieved from Mexico in March, 2007 is currently available online: [2006 Season Recoveries]. We are in the process of adding them to our recovery database and hope to have the complete records online soon. The records are ordered by tag code so that you can easily look for tags you have used. All 11,000+ Monarch Watch tag recoveries 1994 to date are now accessible via a searchable database. We are still working on some of the details (and there are sure to be a few bugs in the system) but we now have a working preview available. The search form should be pretty self-explanatory, just fill in a few fields that you would like to search by and click the "Submit" button. For example, you may want to know how many recovered monarchs were tagged in Kansas during 2003 by people named "Chip" - just make the appropriate selections, hit "Submit" and you'll see 13 recoveries on the Search Results page that match that criteria. You should start with a relatively general search, using very few search terms (for example, a partial tag code or the tag city) and then narrow the search as necessary to zero in on the data you want to view. Submitting a "blank" search will return all 11,000+ records. Once you have taken the database for a test drive please use the feedback form below to send us your thoughts and suggestions - you can also use the form to notify us of any corrections that need to be made to the tag records (misspellings, etc.). If you are submitting corrections please be sure to include your name, email address, and the tag code(s) of the record(s) that need attention. If you encounter a specific error during your search please copy/paste the error message into the feedback form for submission. Thanks! Tag Recovery Certificates are available below as PDF files for you to download, fill in with your tag data from the database, and print out for display. We recommend using the free Adobe Reader software (link provided at bottom of page) to view and print PDF forms such as these certificates.
